Why does your rear lights not come on?
The rear lights may not come on because they may be out I'd say if you think their not out then I'd ask a mechanic.
It is hot, don't ignore it.
If it comes on when you step on the brake pedal you might need to bleed your brakes. Also check your brake fluid in the master cylinder.
Sounds like you have either a switch out of adjustment or a loose wire touching ground somewhere, which is turning your brake lamp on when you corner. Depending on where your hand brake is located, you'll probabley want to start there and look at the switch (normally located under the brake handl...

Why does the check engine light come on your 2003 VW Passat 1.8T the codes can not identify the problem?
take it to a dealer or a qualified mechanic for a diagnostic
If the brake warning light comes on when you apply the brakes, or is on continuously, it means that hydraulic pressure has been lost in one side of the brake system or that the fluid level in the master cylinder is dangerously low (due to a leak somewhere in the brake system).
When the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light on your dash comes on, it usually means that the air pressure in one or more of your tires has dropped below the expected level. The light can also be triggered erroneously by a bad sensor, and it can also come on, and go back off, seemingly at...
Faulty tail/stop bulb at rear
Evidently the bulb is blown out. It needs to be replaced.
Your right rear side light is not flashing on the outside but in the car it flashes really fast when you turn on and the left rear light is working Why is the right rear side not working?
Did you check if the bulb is ok? Normally if a bulb is burned out the speed of the indicator inside the car increases significantly.
Low oil pressure, or the oil pressure sending unit is defective. If the oil level is full, then the oil pump is weak or the sending unit is bad. Replace the oil pressure sending unit and see if that solves the problem. If not, seek professional help. Do not continue to drive the car in this condi...
you have to reset the computer
There are a few reasons why a windshield will stop working. The fuse could be blown, the motor could have died, the wiring could be burnt, or it may not be getting enough electricity.
The ABS and Track module has detected a problem with the system. The code(s) can be read to help determine the cause. Your local auto parts store can help you with that at no charge.
Check the break switch under the break pedal. It might be worn out.
Be sure the master switch is not turned off. Consult the owners manual.
Check fuses first but its probably the brake light switch under the brake pedal.
To let others know that you are breaking.
Frozen cable not fully releasing? Bad switch at top of emergency brake pedal? Low brake fluid level in master cylinder?
The oil light will always come on for just a second after a car is started. If the oil light stays on, the oil could be low or need to be changed.
The computer has detected a fault with the battery and charging system. On a modern car it will need to be scanned to see why the computer is angry. On an old (older than mid 90's) car you have to figure out whats wrong with the alternator.
This light is used for 2 different purposes.(1) If the brake fluid is low, this light will come on.(2) light will come on when you engage the parking brake.
brakes and running lights have separate fuses. check the fusethen check the brake light switch under the dash
The security Warning Light is located on your instrument panel. When the security Warning Light is illuminated, that means that the theft-deterrent system may not be working properly. The light is only a problem if it stays lit when the engine is running.
It is a glitch. If the car wont start put the key in the ignition put it in accessory and wait till theft light goes out. Then restart car. We spent 1500 dollars on replacements then found this is a recall and a known problem that Chevy intends to do nothing about. We have a 2001 Chevy Malibu.
the battery light means that your battery is being charged properly. so let it light.
The TCS light stands for Traction Control System. The light will come on if you turn the Traction Control Off. Faulty bulbs, faulty switch, faulty wiring, disconnected ground.Be sure the bulbs are good and check the fuses.
There are many reasons why the management light will come on, you will have to have the car scanned at a repair shop, the fault code that made the light come on will be stored in the engine control module, and this can be decoded by and any good shop with the correct equipment
replace your gas cap first - cheepest try. i had a crack in a vacuum hose that made it keep coming on. You have an emssions problem of some sort. It may be the gas cap and could be many other things. Unless you are knowledgable, take it to a professional if a new gas cap does not fix it. BTW, a l...
Your car is actually DESIGNED to do this. The cold fins of the AC condenser (mini cooling radiator inside the dash) cause the moisture in the air to stick to it and drip out. Then, that dry, cold air hits the heater core (mini heating radiator inside the dash) and it heats it back up.Thus giving yo...
This question "Why doesn't my central air does not come on" is hard to understand. What does it mean? "Why doesn't my central air come on" may be a bit easier to understand but it may still be wrong. It is not clear what is meant by "air"... Is the question perhaps asking about an air vent in a c...
Low pressure means there either isn't enough oil in the system or the oil pump isn't circulating enough oil to keep the critical bearing and friction surfaces lubricated. If the light comes on while at speed, do your best to pull off the road quickly, turn the engine off, and investigate the probl...
Since the light comes on at low engine speeds and then shuts off, the oil pump is probably fine; if the pump were dying, you'd see low pressure at high engine speeds as well. The most likely culprit is the sensor that operates the light. If it does, you might be due for a new oil pump after all.
The mass airflow sensor, or MAF sensor, calculates the amount of air that's coming into the engine so that the computer can add the right amount of fuel.A faulty MAF sensor could trigger the check engine light. It can also cause a car to experience impaired gas mileage, increased emissions or freq...
The dash board light dimmer control switch may be turned off or broken.
Your vehicle is informing you of the TCS activation when you are exceeding the available friction limit of your tires. Essentially, you are accelerating too quickly for the conditions (or your tires) and wheel slip occurs - accelerate moderately or invest in better tires.
Engine coolant has a variable volume that changes with temperature. When cold, it takes up less space and could therefore be below the coolant level sensor (if equipped). If the light no longer comes on when starting, monitor the level to determine if coolant is leaking or being consumed through a ...
If it remains lit after the parking brake is released or if it turns on and off intermittently while you're driving, it means you need to add brake fluid. If you check the fluid, add as needed and the light still doesn't turn off, you'll need to have the brake system inspected.
The brake light switch is either out of adjustment or defective.
"You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 226) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights.Rear fog lights are brighter than standard tail lights, so when you brake, other motorists may not be able to see your brake lights il...
The headlight switch also opperates the dome light... insted of pulling it out, just turn it like a door knob... if that doesnt work then it might be a fuse, the same fuse that works stuff like the radio also works the dome light. A 2008, I would bring it back to the dealer.
Because you have a very optimistic car.
It could be a number of different things; if the radio and other electrical things work with the key to acc. then it is most likely not electrical. It would be best to take it to a mechanic and have them scan it to see what is wrong. Hope this helps.
No, -but that could indicate you have a major electrical problem.
Do you mean the dome light, or, dash lites? In either case, there is an intermittent. Might be the light switch. or a bad fuse connection. Or, poor connection at fuse box. Or, pinched wire in the harness(This usually blows fuse, though.) If it is only the dome light, flickerring when a door is ope...
Could be the brake fluid reservoir is low which would be telling you the brakes need attention.Could be parking brake not fully released
if turn signals are working , and brake lights not working, i would replace the stop light switch on the brake pedal
It depends on the indicator. Check engine means the engine computer has detected a malfunction. The oil can is an oil pressure problem, a battery is a charging problem, etc
The ABS system requires 10.5 volts to operate, so if the charging output of the alternator was below this level, the ABS light would come on, and the ABS system would shut down. If the output is far below this level (say, zero, if the alternator failed), your battery would not charge, and the car...
Check these things:1. Are the bulbs okay? 2. Are the fuses good? 3. Using an voltmeter or circuit checker see if ther is power at the bulb connector. 4. Finally check the switch at the brake pedal.
When your ABS light comes on, it is referring to the antilock braking system in the vehicle.Traction control doesn't always refer to ABS, however. This can also be a control platform for driving, wheel-speed sensors, and sometimes wires and sensors relating to traction.Things like this can cause t...
The ABS light might have come on after a rear end collision on a 1997 Aerostar because part of the brake mechanism was damaged in the collision. It is also possible that the ABS light came on because the rim was bent in the collision.

VW diesel? or similar? follow the power lead back from the glow plug. It should lead to a very large fuse that is often nothing more than a large flat piece of metal (2 inches wide, 1 inch high). It may just be mounted on the firewall with no protection so it doesn't look like a fuse - but if it ...
The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle.
There are many, many reasons that the check engine light may come on in you car, truck or SUV.A malfunctioning sensor, low tire pressure, low transmission fluid and so much more will cause the light to come on.But some reasons the check engine light comes on are much more common.
Usually, if the DRL light is on, it indicates that the computer has detected an issue. This light should turn off afterwards once the system verifies that everything is working as intended.Typically, a faulty bulb may be the culprit, but there are fuses and relays in the circuit that can cause sim...
The A/T oil light indicates that your automatic transmission fluid is hot. Check to make sure it is filled properly. If it is then take it to a shop to have them diagnose the issue.
Why does my left turn signal flashes fast in front but not in the back and the rear brake lights do not come on that side too in my 2006 Chevy Cobalt?
Start with checking the left rear brake light bulb.
There can be several reasons. Bad grounding is one, make sure the tail light unit is properly fastened to the body carrying the plus current. Broken bulbs are a possibility, replace them. A broken fuse is also likely, locate the fuse box and replace as necessary. Wiring may be bad or broken, is t...
The AC takes the moisture out of the cabin air and that helps clear the inside of the windshield from moisture faster.
It means there is a problem with your HICAS. HICAS steers your rear wheels at high speed moving not more than 2 degrees + or -.The light has come on indicating that there is a problem. This is where is gets fuzzy because the problems are hard to trace down.It could be a fuse, it could be a bad sen...
The radiator fan sensor switch or the radiator fan motor are at fault (maybe even both). Wire the fan motor direct to see if it will run, if it does, replace the sensor switch. This is extremely strange and may not have anything to do with the rain. There could be a short in the wiring system that is triggered by the atmospheric pressure in the air.
If he or she suspects a blown fuse, they will remove the corresponding fuse for the tail lights to see if it is blown. If so, he or she will replace the bad bulb with a new one.If the bulbs and fuses appear to be working properly, the mechanic will then check the corresponding relay for the tail l...
If the oil light means that you have lost all the oil, then the engine has probably siezed up through lack of lubrication. Expensive repair.
