Why do guys in their cars shout to guys walking on the road they don't know?

Cars & Vehicles

maybe its something everyone get used to

They have something in common that is not obvious to you but, they can spot from far away. Example: Jeep Wrangler drivers very often give each other a wave, in one form or another. I did not know this till after purchasing my Wrangler. I wondered for several days why the folks, male and female, were waving at me. Then I noticed, we both had some sort of Jeep Wrangler. The exact year of the Wrangler didn't matter, as long as it wasn't the brand new type. Along the same lines, this "brotherly" gesture did not extend to other Jeep models such as the Cherokee. Hope that helps.
