They have a couple of problems at that age. They are inexperienced, their brains don't fully develop until they are 25. And it's the frontal lobes that are the last and this where maturity is found. They don't see what might happen. It is sort of like a kid learning to walk or talk or ride a bike for the first few times, they just don't have the hang of it yet. And teenagers love to show off.
