Who was the first man to invent a car?

Cars & Vehicles

Karl Friedrich Benz was the first man to invent a car powered by petrol (gasoline) in 1885.

Well... the above info is: Wrong.

Gottfried Daimler did this, and Karl Benz teamed up with him later to form the company Daimler Benz, also known as Mercedes.

But there were French proper cars made some years earlier. The reason Daimler is sometimes named as the creator of the first car, is that his design had an engine type and technical layout somewhat similar to more modern cars, and his designs were in series production. (Volume wise mostly in England actually, after 1896, by Daimler Cars, now part of Jaguar Cars.)
