There are is only 1 size dipstick for a given engine. There is another dipstick for automatic transmission, but there is only 1 size for it.
The dipstick reads full to low, generally 1 qt difference. The engine can run with normal oil pressure 1 qt low. Anything below that is asking for trouble.

It's on top of the valve cover. It has a rubber hose leading back to the air cleaner. Take it off the the valve cover (it pulls right off) and the hose and clean it out with copeous amount of spray carburetor cleaner. Then put it back like you found it.
