What size in line fuse should you use when installing a 2000 watt inverter in your rig?

Cars & Vehicles

There is a power equation that works out for this. However, since I do not think you will power anything larger than a microwave (1000) watts, you will go by the sum of all fuses located on the device (Power inverter). For example: 2 green fuses on device at 40 amps each: 2 x 40 = 80 amp in-line fuse. You can find the larger fuses at audio shops, some cb shops or even a Radio Shack. Please remember to run at least 2 gauge power and ground wires straight to your bank of batteries as a semi cab actually floats - electrically speaking.

You would need to allow for some head room. So, in the UK: 600 Watts / 240 Volts = 2.5 Amps (so a 3 amp fuse should be fine)In the US: 600 Watts / 120 ...
