Is there a way to tell if an odometer has been turned back?

Cars & Vehicles
Car Buying

If an odometer has been turned back you can usually see tell tale signs that the numbers don't allign correctly.

The other way of checking is for wear and tear on the trim within the car. If the vehicle mileage is showing as 20000 miles and the steering wheel and gear stick trim etc is worn then you can put a reasonably safe bet that the vehicle has done far in excess of that mileage.
