Is it dangerous to drive with a broken wheel rim spoke?

Cars & Vehicles

In most cases, YES. This can depend on the quality and configuration/design of wheel, but I would NOT recommend driving on a damaged wheel. The wheel is now no longer balanced, and the damaged portion may trigger further damage as it spins out of balance. If you're hard up for cash, stop by a tire shop and ask if you can buy a stock wheel of the correct size to replace it for now. Some shops will sell wheels for as little as 25-30 dollars. It won't LOOK right, but it beats the damage that results when a wheel fails, (entire brake system, suspension damage, body damage) plus the possibility of injury or death.
