Do I need premium gas on turbo cars?

Cars & Vehicles

The type of fuel is relative to the particular application. Turbo cars are a very broad subject. Some types of European cars be they turbo or naturally aspirated need a minimum of 95 RON unleaded fuel to be used. This is because these engines are generally more powerful or have a better compression ratio, so the fuel needs to ignite or explode at a later stage to prevent the car from pinging (losing performance). The higher the Research Octane Number (RON) the harder it is for that type of fuel to ignite. You'll be able to find out the required fuel for your car either on the inside of your fuel filler flap or inside your owner's manual/workshop manual.
