Do car dealers receive the difference between msrp and gm employee pricing after the sale.?

Cars & Vehicles

No .. employee pricing is marketing tool to sale cars. It does not mean you're getting the car at true cost. It cuts a dealers profit margin considerably but they still get their hold back money from GM with every car sold. Before you ask hold back works like this .... lets say dealer pays 30k for a car with MSRP of 35k he sales car to you for 30k or what he paid for it. Gm would send dealer a check for 2k. Call it a rebate a bonus or a "hold back" it is to insure the dealer will always get something when they sell a car.
