Besides the rear differential is there any other place the speed sensor can be on a 2000 Ford Ranger?
The starter solenoid should be located on the inside fender close to the battery. It will have the positive battery cable connected to it.
On the top of the transmission, above the output shaft.
There are no grease fittings on this vehicle. Many aftermarket parts do have them, though.
Possibly, but it could be tire wear, as well. A new tire typically has 28/32nds tread depth.. this decreases as the tires wear down.
Only the filler plug. You have to remove the cover to drain the oil.
approx. 100 dollars w/ seal, differential cover gasket material (RTV) and labor
No, there is no maximum. At speeds exceeding 30 mph it is becomes more likely that you will be killed rather than injured.
There can be as many as 6 speed sensors. The transmission has two speed sensors, one called a VSS and one called an OSS. If the vehicle has anti-lock brakes, each wheel hub will have it's own speed sensor.
The 2002 Ford Ranger camshaft position sensor is located on the back of the camshaft. The rear engine plate will need to be removed in order to view the sensor.
The vehicle speed sensor will be located above the transmission output shaft.
The O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
The Chevy Nova does have some parts in common with the Ventura, the Oldsmobile Buick, and the Buick Apollo. One of the best places to get interchangeable parts information is from your local Auto Zone or other auto parts retailer.

usually bank 1 is the bank with # 1 cylinder in it and sensor # 1 is the front o2 sensor(usually in the manifold). You will need a O2 sensor socket or a 22mm wrench or deep socket.
The Vehicle Speed Sensor will be on top of the transmission, at the transmission output. Wheel Speed Sensors will be located at each wheel.... the latter are for ABS.
Yes the Ford Ranger is available in basic model styles that are available cheaper than other models of Ford Trucks such as the F-150 models. The Ranger comes in styles that offer 2wd and 4wd models as well as regular and extended beds and different size cab models. Choosing among the different op...
If you have a RWD Expedition, I see two different part numbers for front left and right abs wheel speed sensors. If you have 4WD the front wheel speed sensors are the same.
How difficult is it to remove the rear differential and renew any worn bearings on a 2001 Toyota Powervan?
Not bad. Some specialty tools needed like a foot lb torque wrench, an inch lb torque wrench and a dial indicator. A shop manual for that vehicle would also be helpful.
Here are all the issues for all the vehicles. Did you change fuel filters ? If so double check they are on tight and are mounted correctly and vehicle has been primes. If not does you vehicle have power to crank the starter. Check your voltage if starter clicks that means not enough power to star...

It is threaded into the exhaust system after the catalytic converter.
In what way? electronically? Yes but why? You could run a power wire through a switch and back to the pump to bypass the ignition but for safety sake troubleshoot the system and repair the issue, I bet its just the relay. Any other way of bypassing would not be very useful. The fuel needs to get ...
You need to drain the coolant, pry out the old frost plug and hammer in the new frost plug. Usually I just stick a screwdriver through the hole in the old one and pry it out. You might find that if you use a piece of wood or a seal driver it may go in easier as it has to be driven in straight (ev...
See, a locking rear differential will “lock” both wheels on an axle, forcing both wheels to turn in unison. The electronically locks and distributes engine power evenly to both rear wheels so they move at the same speed and give much better grip and traction.
Generally every 30000 miles unless you have synthetic fluid, and the transfer case as well.
Check for looseness or play in the joint Do you hear a "Ping" when shifting from Park- Drive or Reverse? Do you hear a "Squeak, Squeak, Squeak" when driving down the road?
On the solenoid, there are two poles... you can jump them with a test lead or with a starter button (which you can find at any auto parts store).
I´m the owner of 1991 model and I have made a rebuilding, and I think that the rear shock can interchange for for all the models between 1989 and 2000
Can the transponder key switch in a 2000 ford ranger be replaced with a conventional key switch would like to do away with the transponder key?
Yes ... But it requires a working transponder key, the head of it actually .. Here's what I would do .. Get a good mechanical copy of your key made by a locksmith. Have them cut it to code and make sure it works. Take your old transponder key and cut or break the shaft but do not damage the plast...
The 2001 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter V-6 engine map sensor is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The map sensor will be on the drivers side of the firewall.
There should be 2 (upstream) O2 sensors (one for each bank of cylinders) before the catalytic converter and only one (downstream) O2 sensor after the catalytic converter. All 3 are threaded into the exhaust system.
There isn't one - it uses a cable attached to a mechanical gear inside the transmission.
You can push start a car with a standard transmission. Place the car in neutral. Push the car to a brisk speed. Mash down the clutch pedal and place the gear selector in 2nd gear. Pop the clutch, and it should start.
I would suspect either a short to ground in the circuitry, or excessive mechanical resistance from a faulty wiper motor.
Standing in front with the hood open, just to the right of the air filter box . Will have wires going to it. ( 4.o engine)
it is on the rear axel kindof on the top left of the round chunk it has a few wires running to one plug on it and there is one ( 10 mm ) bolt that holds the lock clip in place take bolt out and pull sensor up and out it is real easy to do
If you don't have a manual here is the procedure. Press and hold the "CLOCK" button. Then press the "seek" button up or down to change hours. Press the "tune" button up or down to change the minutes. Much better than read the manual which I assume you don't have.
Let the engine cool down. Locate the lower water hose at the bottom of the radiator. Unfasten the clamp or clamps, pull on the hose and the water comes out.
For the 2.3L 4 cylinder, under normal driving conditions, 60K
The speed sensor on a 2000 Olds Bravada Smartrak is on the top of the automatic transfer case. To change it you need to disconnect the two wires and replace with a new sensor.
If an engine is equipped with a timing belt, the timing belt must be replaced at the service interval specified by the vehicle manufacturer regardless of whether or not any problem is visible, typically in the range of 60,000 to 90,000 miles.Your vehicle owner's manual should state the specific s...
You would need to be more specific because an airbag will not go off in every vehicle collision, there are enabling criteria that prevent that from happening if the airbag is not needed (i.e. like a minor fender bender) Some other information needed would be as follows: Approxamate MPH: Location ...
No there is not a shim between the starter and the bolt holder unless someone has put the wrong starter on and had to rig it up to make it engage properly.
search for a FORD lover web site, or some fanatics "MY LOVELY 150" page... also everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a SHOP manual available in the reference section--make copies of the right info and read up..you'll be a pro in no time ...good luck:)...
Where is the temperature coolant sensor located on a 2000 Cadillac DeVille North Star? Hello, In the most inconvenient place on the vehicle (nearly). There may be two on some models, one on the thermostat housing, and the other on the back of the passenger side cylinder head.
It should be on top in the intake manifold it should be near the thermostat housing. Good Luck !
Yes, any tractor drivetrain will do
When fluid leaks out the back side where the plunger goes in, it is going out. Fluid would be seen from inside the cab, up above the clutch pedal.
The IAT sensor is the Intake Air Temperature sensor, and it is typically located in the air duct between the air filter housing and the engine. It sends an outside air temperature sensor signal to the engine's computer to help in determining how much fuel is applied to the injectors. On some mode...
Yes there is a Map sensor.
It may not have a place. Some GM transmissions are sealed for life. You add fluid the same place you check it. If there is no place to check it, then it is sealed.
The check engine light would illuminate and set a code for the bad O2 sensor.
Of course, there are other possible reasons that your car won't start.
How many front wheel bearings need to be replaced on a 1991 Ford Ranger 4x4.Is there 2 or a total of 4 bearings.?
there are a total of 4 wheel bearings on the front both sides have an inner and outer bearing. the outer bearing is visable when you remove hub the inner bearing is visable when you remove rotor
There should be a power distribution box under the hood with fuses and relays.
The antenna location on a 2000 Ford Expedition is going to vary depending on the type of radio installed. If XM Radio is available, the antenna will be a very small square on the back roof of the vehicle. If the radio is normal, the antenna is located on the side of a rear, driver's side window.
where is the starter located on a 2000 ford explorer the starter motor is located underneath the engine, at the point where it attaches to the transmission on the passenger side.If you start at the battery, and follow the positive (+) battery cable, it will lead right to the starter.
Inside the transmission! Got to remove the trans oil pan to get to it.
What could be the cause of no spark at plugs on ford explorer 1999 4 ltr v6 engine cranks fuel is there any help would be greatly received?
it has a crank shaft position sensor which could possibly be bad its located on front of motor next to crankshaft pulley
Most vehicles in use today use two types of wheel speed sensors; variable reluctance (passive) and magneto resistive (active).
its connected with the mas sensor and is toward the top on the right side of the airbox, it has 6 wires going to it its connected with the mas sensor and is toward the top on the right side of the airbox, it has 6 wires going to it
When I changed the fluid in mine it took 3 quarts to fill it up. Also if you have a posi-trac rear end you will need to put in a Posi additive. You can get it at Oreillys or AutoZone. If you don't put in the additive the rear end will make a clunking sound when turning.
The alternator is probably faulty - you might take it to Auto Zone and have it checked for free.
30 Miles per hour unless stated.
Where is the door switch that controls the Door Ajar light and also controls the interior lights on a 2000 Ford Ranger?
It has two. One behind the drivers side door panel and one behind the passengers side door panel. I just purchased one for my 2000 Ranger for $10 at my local parts store.
The Engine coolant temperature sensor is installed in a coolant passage which is located at the front left cornerof the cylinder head.
Your speedometer and odometer are not working in your 1983 Ranger you am not sure if it could be the speed sensor If it is the speed sensor where is this located?
If you look under the truck, near the left rear side of the transmission, check for a cable secured to the transmission by a bolt and clip. This is the speedometer cable, which is probably broken in your case, if it is a 4x4 truck, the cable is on the left rear of the transfer case. You can buy j...
1999 FORD RANGER XL THEFT LIGHT IN DASH BLINKS WHEN I SHUT OFF ENGINE AND STAYS ON AFTER I START IT. THERE IS NO HORN OR OTHER SOUND. WHAT DOES MEAN AND IS THERE A WAY TO SHUT IT OFF?
You have a problem with passive anti theft system. If it's activated light will flash when key is powered on but will not start. It should never flash and start and engine stay on. You need an auto locksmith to check the system, key halo, module and ecu.
it could but is not likely to the transfer case transfers power to the front diff, not the rear
In a 2000 grand am SE what other reason would there be for exhaust fumes to come into the car if the muffler is ok?
I have the same problem in my 2000 grand am! Have had it in the shop three times and they can not find the problem either. Exhaust system is tight, replced manifold gasket, still fumes. seems to be worse when cold is cold, after stopping from a drive, can smell on drivers side under the hood??? H...

Locate the coolant temperature sensor; the location depends on which engine your 1500 pickup has.The 4.3-liter's sensor is on the right cylinder head, beneath the rear of the exhaust manifold. On the 5.0- and 5.7-liter engines, the sensor is on the right cylinder head under the exhaust manifold.
There are many sensors on that vehicle. Need to know which ones you are looking for.
Since someone asked about the location of the vehicle speed sensor, it is part of the AL4 transmission and located near the drive shaft. I don't have pictures of my own, so here's some from the internet. The easiest way to gain access to it is from under the car. Removal is easy, just remove the b...
If you mean "end play", yes.
I would say indefinitely. It's not safe for obvious reasons, but your car won't spontaneously explode if it isn't fixed. Depending on the year and type of car you drive, it may throw up a "problem" or check engine light. Not a major problem in itself, but if there is a REAL problem, you may not k...
