The engine oil pan is the lowest part of the engine, front to back.
Water in your engine oil means significant money will soon be leaked from your bank account. The most common cause is a leaking head gasket. That is a major repair, because the cylinder head(s) must be removed and the gasket(s) replaced.A cracked cylinder wall.

It will be on the bottom of the engine. You will have to get under the truck to see it. It will look like a big pan will one bolt on it. This bolt is what you take out to drain the oil out of it.
The proper and most reliable way of making that repair would be to replace the oil pan.
Need to know what the problem is.
Depending on the year of your auto.1. You made need to replace fuel filter.2. Fuel injectors may need to be either cleaned out or replaced.
Oil pans are a major engine cooling system parts. They are usually constructed of thin steel and shaped into a deeper section to fully perform its function. It is also where the oil pump is placed. When an engine is not running or at rest, oil pans collects the oil as it flows down from the sides of...
Take your title or registration to the Ford dealer and have a new one made, they can do it from the VIN but you will have to prove it is your vehicle.
Two basic possibities:1st The head gasket failure is between a oil pressure gallery and coolant. Since the engine runs 45 psi oil pressure and 17 psi coolant pressure it means you can see the oil in the coolant but the tiny amount of coolant in the oil won't show. It is there and it will quickly ...
Any SAE certified antifreeze can be used in your 1997 Ford Taurus. The automaker recommends that you use an anti-freeze that is rated for -35 degrees.
An engine that had antifreeze in the oil pan and it set a long period of time And I think it's locked?
If you are lucky, then the head gasket is blown. If you are not lucky, the engine block or cylinder head is cracked.
The worst part will be either lifting the engine to the point that it clears obstructions, or to remove the obstructions, or both. Lifting the engine requires that you disconnect the motor mounts and who knows what else. Once everything is out of the way to drop the pan, the actual pan gasket is ...

Need to weld oil pan on 98 s10four wheel drive what is the best way to lowerdrop front end to get to oil pan?
Its not a great idea to weld the oil pan on in case you hit a big speed bump one day and rip a hole in it.. and you definitly dont want to cut it off to weld a new one on.. you'd ruin the motor
This noise is very common on the Ford 4.6L SOHC engine due to air entering the oiling system especially after long period of sitting with engine off ore replacement of oil filter or worn engine or faulty oil filter. The engine can start and run for several seconds without adequate oil pressure. T...
Without specifics like 2wd or 4wd, exact procedures will vary but it usually can be done. Commonly one would need to at least remove the motor mount bolts to hoist the engine up slightly (couple inches) to gain clearance. Carefull not to go too far and bend anything or pinch anything against the ...
It is the same as summer but just a little colder in Brisbane.
When antifreeze is poured into your oil, it weakens your oil cause it to break down prematurely and can cause your engine to fail by spinning an engine bearing and even smoke. This is also a sign of a blown head gasket.
Some hold 5 quarts and some 6. Some also have 2 drain plugs. Park on level surface. Look carefully and drain all the oil, and change the filter. Add 5 quarts, start the engine, run for 1 minute, shut off and wait 1 hour. Check the level and add as necessary. You now know.
yes it's near the oil pan i think
You put antifreeze in the car the next evening you put the car in park and the antifreeze ran out of your 1996 Cadillac Seville you did have enough for it to run over what happened?
It may have overheated and boiled over. It may be a small leak in a hose or the water pump. You'll have to find out where it's comming from before you can figure out what is going on. If the car is sitting for a while, check the coolant reservoir for leaks.
Ford patents a multi-touch version of its classic keypad. For decades, Ford has offered a keypad on the doors of their cars that would allow owners access with the right code.Although it might be possible to have it on the car itself as well, the patent only seems to focus on the key fob.
no does it have a drace under the engine? if it does that's all you need to take of or what you can do is take of the bolts from the motor mounts and just lift up the engine
If you are only asking about Ford vehicles, that would be the Ford Model "B" that came out in 1932.The above answer is correct but in addition Ford built 2 different cars that were both called Model A & Model B. The first Model A was built in 1903-04. It was the first car built by Ford Motor ...
The bottom of the engine. There is a plug that you drain the oil out of. that plug is in the pan.
Its at the back of the engine to the left of the back face of the pan. Its a big hex with a dimple in the centre. Can't find a torque setting, the book says tighten securely without stripping the threads. Hand tight and a 1/4 turn might be OK but your local dealership will be able to tell you a t...
Not knowing the extent of the oil leak, a short distance yes, but be sure the engine oil level is kept between add and full.

When the car is turned off coolant flows out the top of the reservoir cap has been replaced Car does not overheat while driving No white smoke oil in antifreeze or antifreeze in oil Any ideas?
Theres to much water in your reservoir bottle, theres a mark were it should be filled up to, any more and it will flow over.
If there is motor oil in the antifreeze reservoir there is a good chance there is also antifreeze in the motor oil. This condition is probably the result of a bad head gasket or a cracked head. Antifreeze mixing with motor oil is a recipe for disaster for the engine. Have a trusted mechanic diagn...
302 low oil pressure - Ford Muscle Forums : Ford Muscle Cars Tech Forum.I have recently acquired a 302 out of an 88 mustang with 75000 miles on it.When first started it will hold 50 PSI oil pressire. After it warms up the pressure drops to about 25 PSI driving, and about 15 PSI at idle.
The oil pan is at the very bottom of the engine. The gasket sits between the oil pan and the bottom of the block.
Depending on which "W" you mean it can be either of the following two date sequences. In the first range of registrations where the letter was the last digit in the number plate sequence it would of been either 1980 or 1981 depending on what month the vehicle was registered. The second range of r...
well its burning oil so you might have to change your fuel filter or you might just have a leak in your exhaust its an easy fix tho This is usually a sign of bad valve seals. They can be replaced without removing the heads if it gets to be a problem. When you stop the engine for an extended perio...
no, if you mean in the windscreen washer fluid, why would that harm your car? all it does is clean your windows.

Is it true that one of the purposes for the oil pan is cooling the oil through its contact with the outside air?
No. But in a way this does allow some heat to be removed. The design of the engine and flow of oil, plus many engineering points of the oil and car are all that are needed.
What happens if you put perol in diesel car then oil as well after running it fot 1000 miles now the warning light comes on and run sluggish.if i get a flush will the car run normally again?
If you drove a diesel for 1,000 miles with gasoline in the tank, then, depending on the amount of diesel you put in the tank, you may have done some serious damage to the injector pump. Drain the tank of all fuel and the fill it up with diesel. You will know very soon if damage was done.
You have no oil draining from your oil pan you do have oil in the filter Is it possible for there to be a blockage you put the filter back on and put oil in but nothing came from the pan or drain plug?
THATS WEIRD I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT A THING TO TRY IS IF YOU CAN GET A HOSE THAT BLOWS AIR AT HIGH PRESSURE AND PUT IT WHERE YOUR DIPSTICK GOES AND BLOW THAT AIR THROUGH THERE WITH THE DRAIN PLUG OUT IT WOULD PUSH ANYTHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE CAUGHT IN THERE OUY

Take off the reservoir & flush it out with hot water to get the oil out. If you drive it it can go through the cooling system and it may distort rubber seals etc. If it's a very minor amount it might not be an issue but flush it to be safe.
Your car a 95 Camry overheated you changed the temp switch and thermostat when you put antifreeze in it it was fine but then the next day the antifreeze tank was empty no visable leaks either?
If you didn't get it warm after the work and then refill the tank - the system was probably closed when you filled it. It's possible once the thermostat opened (or just as the coolant leaked past), the fill you gave was used as it filled the system past that point.
A car that travels 1000 kilometers in 5 hrs, averages 200km/h.
What can cause high pitched whine in 95 Honda Accord only when car is moving after driving for 30 miles?
it could be anything. i would personally take it to a shop and see what they say b/c if you just ignore it, it could cause more problems and you want to hit the problem head on and not make the problem worse.
I lose about 1 gallone of Antifreeze every 130 mile and no leaks found replaced radiator cap flushed out cooling system. No antifreeze in oil and no white foam around radiator cap.?
This is an extreme amount to loose. Common sense tells you that you have a leak. The question is where is the leak? If you cannot see coolant on the pavement, then I would suspect one of two things. Either the coolant is leaking near the exhaust manifold and burning off, or you have an internal l...
Nine times out of ten blown head gasket>very common problem fix immediately will make car overheat and lock up. Also cracked block/water jacket caused by inproper anti-freeze mixture in radiatore.
The correct tappet setting for a Minor 1000, is .012", or twelve thousandths of an inch. The best way to check them is one at a time, to the "rule of nine".This is where the valve open, and the opposite one to be checked, add up to nine.eg, front valve is number one, and if this one is down (open...
The full "corporatization" of America. Corporations will take over the political process (the supreme court has already declared corporations to be "people" with full rights under the constitution) and one company Murray Hill (check out their website) tried to run for Congress.
Impossible to answer as you did not list make, model, or year. All I can tell you is that RED means stop or danger. The year, make and model would help. More info please. It's a warning indicator of some kind. Hard to tell what as you haven't even said what car.
It would depend on the maintenance and care the engine has had. I can tell you that our fleet consisted of many retired police cars most of which had 100K plus hard miles when we received them. It was rare to lose an engine. More commonly the transmission would fail.
It depends on the climate you live in. Consult the drivers manual.
Is it possible to drive a 91 caviler with the thermostat that controls the antifreeze out for about 100 miles?
It may be possible but not for a long period of time as the computer will not get a proper reading and the computer system will not go into closed loop because the coolant temp will be too cold at the coolant temp. sender. Driving with no thermostat makes the coolant too cold therefore the inject...

If your vehicle is standard, their will be only one pan underneath your vehicle with a bolt at the bottom. If your vehicle is auto, then your oilpan will be closest to your engine. My sons1995 Hyundai elantra has a hole in the oil pan is this hard to change and is it expensive can it be plugged or something?
You can mix up some JB weld and put that on but the surface has to be clean, you should drain the oil pan first. I know as when I lived in OK my son said spin the tires and I did and a gravel hit my oil pan and by the time we got home I had not oil and #2 son cleaned it good and used Jb weld on it.
