Any type fluid you mention, even if it existed, would gum up the working parts and render the engine completely useless. One can always purchase a rebuilt engine at a lower cost than new.

Check your transmission fluid and for fluid all over the road you were driving on. Seems you lost fluid, have a busted bottom pan or other. Maybe the old burnt fluid clogged the trans. Don't even try to drive it. Replace the fluid and filter and clean out the cover. If that works do it again in 1...
Unless its a SHO model, its a non-interference head and wont cause any issue if it breaks. I would say every 100k miles is a good bet for replacement.
Sounds like no coolant flow to me.Check for missing water pump belt or stuck thermostat, but not as likely as:Most likely is cracked or dislodged water pump impeller. Replace the water pump.
It varies according to model year, but attached is a very detailed guide brought to you by the Taurus Car Club of America with pictures on every step of accessing the gauge cluster.*The following is based on a removal of a 1996 Ford Taurus GL Gauge Cluster. The rear windows on the Generation 3 Ford Taurus's (1996-1999) are not able to roll down completely because of the door design. The window cannot fit into the lower door cavity. Contrary to popular belief, there is no Federal regulation or reason behind this other than the door shape and design.
Doesn't need a lot of moisture inside a headlight to blow bulbs especially halogen type.
A small amount of oil won't hurt it, it gets water, dirt & such sprayed on it when you drive. If it is *covered* in oil it would be a good idea to clean it off. Wipe off everything you can with a rag, especially on the electrical contacts. Cleaning it with engine degreaser & low-pressure ...

Most mechanics refer a "Cracked head" as a Cracked cylinder head, This is usually repairable, but expensive and MUST be repaired. A Cracked Block means that the engine block is cracked and MUST be replaced. This is EXTREMELY expensive But ENTIRELY necessary. Any additional strain being cause by W...

Probably a faulty multifunction/stalk switch.
Looks like a small black plastic box with a red button and wires connected to it. Most likely on the upper drivers side area of the trunk, sometimes behind a panel.
"ON" is the normal position. There is either an arrow on the part you move, or a ring on it. The arrow will point to the word representing the position the valve is currently in, or the little ring will circle the word. When the valve is on, fuel should not flow unless the cycle is running. Suctio...
I've never seen that happen. It's really rare for an ECM to go bad.
I know of one that has over 300,000 miles on it. If serviced according to the owner's manual, and driven easily, you can get well over 100,000 miles out of one. 150,000-200,000 is not out of the question. You may have to have the transmission repaired, but even it will last well over 100,000 is s...
The idle for the 97 Taurus could be too low. The transmission bands could be sticking some as well, not allowing the transmission to come out of gear during idling.

The recommended fuel for this vehicle is Premium Unleaded but Ford does not say it is mandatory. So, more than likey, you can burn Regular Unleaded with a loss of power as the fuel managment sytem will adjust for the lower octane fuel. I am not 100% sure about this on this vehicle so contact your...
These are common causes of 'no-heat' when the coolant is flowing:To check - confirm that both heater hoses going into the firewall are warm. If only one is warm, likely there is a blockage and the core will have to be flushed and/or replaced. If your Taurus is only blowing cold air:Check the level...

Head gastket located between the engine block and the cylinder head. Going rate around $400 at a local repair shop. The gasket is cheap however the replacement is labor intensive. If you don't know where the head gasket is you definitely want it to be replaced by a professional.Saludos,KW
4 of 4 Sensors tested suffered severe damage due to poor quality workmanship and metallurgy. The cam synchronizer is a common failure item in Vulcans, with a working life typically between 80-100k miles. Firstly, like any other car, confirm that the idle speed is reasonable. Then, check engine and transmission mounts as you would on any car. Then, this being a taurus, check the cradle (subframe) mounts. The cradle mounts on these cars tend to go bad very frequently and cause a strong thump going ...

Hi, Figure 25-30% more than generator capacity. If you are trying to get more out than you put in, then the Laws of Physics preclude this. Peace, crigby
t isn't a very common problem, but it does happen occasionally. More often, it is the oil pan seal or the timing cover gasket, though. As it is a tight space, you may not know for sure where the oil is coming from until it's apart-- which isn't a big deal because many of the same parts have to co...
Low of refrigerant R134. Coils or cabin filter (if equipped) can also be clogged, blocking airflow, which will cause unit to ice over and block air flow. Have the refrigerant charge checked by a pro.
Why does it really matter? Are you going to test this out? You're sick.
No, there was never a power sunroof version. No, there was never a power sunroof.
All the solenoids for the transmission are inside the valve body. The side pan( drives side ) on the transmission is the valve body cover. There is a manual lever position sensor at the transmission. This is at the end of the shifter cable at the transmission.
You must run the OBD codes to find out for sure, but sounds like a faulty ignition module or a plugged fuel filter
It is possible. Replace any broken mount, and this will eliminate the possibility.

Didn't mention what vehicle you have but, if it is a Ford product the inertia switch may have popped. Can't tell you where the switch is without knowing what vehicle you have.
I am pretty sure you can pop the hood and open the fuse box. Read the diagram and it should tell you which paticular fuse you can pull to bypass the security system. I had to do it to my wife's Dodge Avenger, so I hope it is the same with your car. Good Luck!

As long as you make certain to purchase the same type of cap you are replacing, it will have no effect. Either "vented" or "non vented". should be marked on the cap.
This response is from the HeaterTreater team. I'm not sure why you would want to replace one of our products, but if there is a problem we will bend over backwards to make it right. Also there is a video posted on YouTube or our web site that shows the installation process for our blend door prod...
There is not a low idle screw. The computer sends a signal to the idle air control motor and it does the adjusting accordingly. If your idle is to high and your check engine light is on then you need to go to a repair shop and have them diagnosis the problem.

If the check engine light comes on it is best to take it to a auto part store or mechanic for a diagnosis. They will be able to inform the owner what the issues is.
