To stop fuel flow to engine in case of accident
See the related question link for your answer. The car will run OK, because it is ignoring the bad sensor and running in what we call "open loop". Performance is not going to be as good, and gas mileage will be affected.

You don't have to bend any, they should fit tight as is.
The idea behind the remote oil filter is to make it more easily accessible.
Yes. Without oil your engine will overheat, the metal will expand and grind and lock itself up tighter than a drum. Your engine will become a piece of junk ready for the trash. Got it? Can your body function without blood? No! Same thing goes for oil for your car.
the rollover switch for the fuel pump is located in the trunk right next to the suspension shutoff switch.
The refrigerant level is probably low. When the compressor turns on it pulls refrigerant from the low side and as soon as the low side pressure drops below a certain point, the sensor disengages the AC clutch. If you haven't already converted your AC to 134A, now would be a good time. All vehicle...
The 2003 VW Beetles did not use a radiator in their cars. Instead they had air cooled rear engine. Radiators were not used until 2004.
Heater core leaking or "bad"/ repair/replace. 4-8 hours labor + parts... pain in the rear (not the cars)
May be a defective thermostat - not openingMay be a blockage in system
I'm assuming you have checked for tire leaks! Check for leaking air suspension parts if so equipped. Not sure about a car this old, but lots of the newer Fords had air bladders for struts/shocks (air ride option). These cars had compressors under the hood to replentish air to adjust ride height. ...
There should be one female plug-in and one separate hot wire that is hot anytime the battery is hooked up.
I know ford products do, and think this does also. Not positive, but it is typically accessed through the trunk.
That is were the coolant goes when it expands. Sounds like coolant isn't circulating or it is being forced out of the system.
On newer fuel injected cars when the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (M.A.P sensor) goes bad it will cause the car to fire up but then quickly stall. Unplug the MAP sensor and then try starting the car, if it will stay running with it unplugged it is the culprit (don't try and drive around with...

The fuel pressure regulator on a 1990 Geo Prizm is located in the fuel line that runs along the valve cover of the engine. It is an inline device that is no bigger than the fuel line itself.
the racket is most likely the valve train...fix the leak and fill and start...eny smoke? does the noise go away after a short time 5 min...?? gool duck :) also everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a SHOP manual available in the reference section--make...
The oil pressure sending unit is threaded into the oil filter housing on a 2 wheel drive. A 4 wheel drive has the oil pressure sending unit located on the drivers side of the engine block just below the cylinder head.
Check for pressure switch located at the top of the drier-if there try jumping across it.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start the engine).2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three times within 10 seconds.3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
It can seriously damage the crankshaft main seals, and depending on how MUCH overfilled, it can damage other parts as well.
you should be able to find a shop manual at the local library with the right information on this -- make copies of the pages, as they are usually for REFERENCE only...:)
Switch accidently shut off? Malfuntioning compressor? Bad air bag? Broken or disconnected air line?so how do i fix it?
If you are replacing the old sensors, you can cut off the wires at the sensor and slip a 7/8" box wrench over the sensor for removal. Use the open end 7/8" wrench to install the new one. Tighten the new sensor as you would a spark plug.
According to Cars.com the 2004 Expedition has a 28 gal tank. This was true for both the low-end LXS 4.6L and the top-end Eddie Bauer 5.4L so it would be safe to assume averthing in between was the same.
Only for the high speed. The lower speeds are controlled with the use of a blower motor speed resistor.
9/24/2005 Please find this shorting problem asap!!! You are going to have a car fire and loose everything! You reset the computer with an OBD2 scan tool. Or some times if it is not a hard code by that i mean a real problem you can disconect the batt. for a hour this some times work but the newer cars are harder and harder to do this with
They are made by Exel Wheel Company and not by an auto manufacture.
What year? Is it a non turbo, IDI or power stroke 7.3?
as it is air cooled, no, only way is to keep it somewhere warm.you can get a heater that mount under the oil pan check your auto accessories store
On top of the engine. When you open the hood, it ill be right in front of you, in the middle, right behind engine
A slow reacting relay. Either the ECM or fuel pump relay
I have the same model. It is behind the right hand headlamp as you face the engine.
take vin number to ford dealer and they should give them to you
Could be what's called "Blow-by". Your pistons have Rings & Seals on them and when they get old and worn with lots of miles put on the engine, they allow a little bit of oil to escape past the piston and into the chamber which is immediatly burned. This results in the smoke coming out of the ...
below the left side of the instrument panel behind the kick panel on the fuse box
most switches would be underneath gearbox, yes it sounds like that, a simple job , manual would show you. Check your computer switch box and see if the reverse lights switch is damaged. If so, replace it. It costs 2 SAR
That would depend on whether you are leaking the oil or burning it. If the engine is worn out and causing the oil to burn, there really isn't much you can do for it. If you are leaking the oil, it may be something that can be repaired by replacing the oil pan gasket, or even tightening the oil fi...
Put your Element in neutral and disconnect the battery! Then get a good grip under the panel surrounding the gear shift, the radio and a/c. with a little prying it pops right off. Once you get this removed, you'll see four (maybe two if my memory is fuzzy) screws that hold the radio/cd player in ...
You will need to determine if is a spark problem or a fuel problem then take it from there.
I would believe the spring loaded detent has broken. Obtain a complete shifter from a salvage yard ( about $35.) and replace yours or rob the parts you need off it. Good luck.
301 means #1 cylinder has a misfire check plug or coil
Start by folding down the back, take a trim tool and pry out the plastic rivets holding the carpet to the seat. remove the carpet from the seat back and fold out of the way. on the bottom of the seat wher it pivots there should be two bolts per side, if my memory is right you only have to unbolt ...
there is a small bolt that holds down the coil for each cylinder.... It has a 7 or 8 mm head on it and is longer than I think it should be.... probably 1.5 inches or so, so be patient taking it off. On the passenger side, the bolt is towards the outside of the engine in front of the coil itself...
Try popping a credit card in when you hit the eject button. It worked for me!
Dead battery? Loose or dirty battery cables? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter? Neutral switch?
The oil is located in the oil pan. It holds a set amount. Over fillling is just as bad as under filling. With the engine off, cold, parked on a level surface, pull out the oil level dip stick and check the level. If it is low of oil, remove the oil filler cap, marked OIL. Pour in just enough to f...
Dash lights are supposed to light at startup so you know they work. The 4x4 is not working so the light won't come on other than at startup.
It all depends on the year of the expedition. The 97s were junk but all the rest are usually pretty good.

Usually not. The LED lights are soldered in series with each other, and it will be a very time consuming to attempt removing/replacing the offending led bulb and re-soldering them again. Sounds like the heater core is stopped, Do this, Get the truck up to opperating temp. Shut off engine, raise hood and locate the two hoses that go to and from the heater core, Feel both of them to see if they are warm. If not then it is likely that the core is stopped up.
On my clio 1.2 the fuel pressure regulator is built into the fuel pump, which is nxt to the petrol tank
Nope, it's a deep, solid black -------------ooooooooooo--------------- When car oil is new it is translucent and can be green, yellow or pale brown, depending on type and additives. The older and more used it is, the darker it is. An engine that has black oil that smells burnt should be avoided
It will be on the bottom of the engine. You will have to get under the truck to see it. It will look like a big pan will one bolt on it. This bolt is what you take out to drain the oil out of it.

Aux Power Outlet fuses can blow due to a system short (not likely), a metalic object getting into the outlet and shorting the terminals together (which is why most manufactures provide a tethered cap) or a device being used which exceeds the Amp rating of the fuse (typically 20A). Such devices in...
